Successful launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
Keep the main systems of the infrared telescope at a temperature 600°F lower than the side facing the Earth, Moon, and Sun!
In December 2021, DDC announced the successful launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) on December 25, in collaboration with NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) from Bohemia, New York. The JWST is one of the largest space telescopes in the world, allowing astronomers to study the origins of the solar system and distant galaxies, far surpassing the capabilities of the Hubble Space Telescope. While the Hubble Space Telescope operates in low Earth orbit (540 km), the JWST's infrared telescope is designed to move far away to the Lagrange point (L2) between the Earth and the Sun, located 1.5 million km (940,000 miles) from Earth. The project has incorporated radiation-hardened components such as Rad-Hard, SBC, and 1553 products developed by DDC/PDC. *For more details, please refer to the related links.
